Agroecology on the Farm: Two days of hands-on training at Sicilian pilot farms on June 20th and 27th.
The Sicilian Agroecology Coordination, as part of the Training Course in Agroecology and Implementation of Regional Law 21/2021 of the Sicilian Region, is organizing two important days of study, analysis, and practical planning dedicated to Sicilian agroecological farms.
The meetings will take place on June 20 and 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at four pilot farms throughout the region, selected as concrete examples of agroecological practices, environmental sustainability, biodiversity protection, and the circular economy.
The activities will involve teachers and students from the Training Course in Agroecology, with opportunities for direct fieldwork, observation of farm practices, and in-depth discussions on the application prospects of Regional Law No. 21 of July 29, 2021.

Host Farms
1. Zu Federicu Agritourism Farm – Castelvetrano (TP)
Located in Contrada Belice di Mare, in the Castelvetrano area, this farm is committed to promoting the local area and local produce. The farm setting will offer participants the opportunity to explore the relationship between agroecology, organic farming, and rural multifunctionality.

2. Dara Guccione Biofarm – Alia (PA)
Dara Guccione Biofarm is committed to experimenting with sustainable agricultural practices and promoting agricultural biodiversity in inland Sicily. The visit will address topics related to ecological crop management and ecosystem-friendly production models.

3. Vincenzo Arcoria Farm – Paternò (CT)
In the Etna area, Vincenzo Arcoria’s farm is an example of integrating agricultural production, environmental sustainability, and agroecological innovation. The planned activities will analyze business planning tools geared toward climate resilience and sustainable resource management.

4. Carbonia Agritourism Company – Aragona (AG)
The Carbonia Agritourism Company, in the Agrigento area, will host in-depth sessions dedicated to local agroecological systems, rural circular economies, and agricultural practices compatible with landscape and biodiversity protection.

Participation is also open to external audiences.
The two-day event is also open to professionals, industry professionals, students, and enthusiasts interested in learning more about applied agroecology.
The participation fee is €35, including lunch.
