The Sicilian Agroecology Coordination, a non-profit organization registered with the RUNTS (National Institute for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies), promotes a program of direct support for farms and retail outlets committed to the agroecological transition and strengthening the short supply chain.
How it works
Consumers make an annual donation (starting at €50) indicating the farm or retail outlet they wish to support.
For each donation:
– 40% remains with the Coordination for project management, monitoring, and promotion;
– 60% is transferred to the participating farm as a non-repayable, restricted grant, to be used exclusively for projects consistent with the agroecological transition.
The grant is not a commercial payment or a financial investment, but rather financial support for the farm’s agroecological journey.
Who can participate?
Farms that commit to:
– investing the funds received in agroecological interventions (planting native species) to implement the agroecological transition pursuant to Regional Law 21 of the Sicilian Region of July 29, 2021;
– organizing at least one annual sharing event with consumers;
– ensuring reporting and transparency.
Stores that commit to:
– ensuring at least 20% of purchases come from short supply chains;
– introducing at least five products from native or traditional varieties;
– promoting agroecological awareness initiatives;
– submitting an annual report on their activities.
Cards and Loyalty
Donors are issued an Agroecological Community Card, valid for one year and for all companies or sales outlets participating in this project that offer a discount on direct purchases, according to the following progression:
– 50 € → 10% (Germoglio)

– 100 € → 12% (Fertilità)

– 150 € → 15% (Biosfera)

– 200 € → 20% (Gaia)

The discount is personal, non-transferable, and valid only for direct purchases.
